Vânzările scad. E criză. Ce faci?

by Emanoil Drăgănescu

The OverConfident Incompetent

by Emanoil Draganescu

Modern organisations face a new type of character, which I am gonna call the OverConfident Incompetent. This is a new type of organisational breed that can be easily recognised by the fact that he/she is not really able to to be highly competent in a specific field, but displaying a confident attitude is able to gain power inside the organisation – propagating a fake competence perception. You can say that his/her main competence is confidence. But this type of confidence is not based on real knowledge or skills.

What’s your next move?

by Robin Stuart-Kotze Ph.D | Robin is Associate Consultant with Corporate Dynamics

Lifelong careers are rapidly becoming a thing of the past, at least in Western Europe and North America. Statistics indicate that people now have more than three careers over the length of their working life. However the definition of career change tends to be rather unclear. Is it changing functions within a company – e.g. from marketing to operations? Is it moving from one company to another? Is it moving to a completely different occupation, like architect to chef?  Each of these moves entails a progressively bigger change and each presents different challenges.

Employee motivation is not only financial

by Emanoil Draganescu

As nowadays is more and more difficult to recruit good employees, more importance is given to employee retention. Motivation seems to be a major factor involved in employee retention. This article explores employee motivation, not claiming that the subject will be completely explained. There are a lot of motivational theories from Herzberg to Maslow and many other. This article is not about that.

Let’s take into account some factors that influence employee motivation.

Coaching direct reports might not work

There is a new trend in organisations to use coaching as a managerial tool. Some managers, tend to attend coaching trainings and seminars and starting using “coaching” with the direct reports. I even heard one manager telling one of the reports “you have just been coached”. Sometimes people we work with do not behave or achieve as expected and managers believe that coaching might help. Well…

How to engage your employees

I recently had the opportunity to attend an HR Summit and noticed that the preferred topics were recruitment and employee engagement.
